More information :

The Parish Church of San Giuliano in Castiglion Fiorentino, commonly called the "Old Parish Church" after the construction of the adjacent Collegiate Church, has been home to a vast collection of sacred art since 2006, boasting more than one hundred works from various sacred buildings in Castiglion Fiorentino: the Museum of the Parish Church of San Giuliano.

In the main hall, we can admire, among others, the processional statue of the Madonna della Cintola and the Madonna di Petrognano, a 13th-century polychrome wooden sculpture. In the Choir Chapel, where the parish church's high altar originally stood, two processional statues dear to the people of Castiglion Fiorentino are displayed: Christ at the Column and the Risen Christ, both carved by Niccolò di Smeraldo Salvi and carried in procession during the Holy Week rites.

In the Chapel of the Sacrament, a 15th-century glazed terracotta, the Baptism of Jesus, is visible, possibly from the workshop of Andrea della Robbia. On the right side of the same chapel is one of the most important works in the museum, the Lamentation over the Dead Christ by Luca Signorelli, dating back to the early sixteenth century.
