Halfway between the olive groves of the Val di Chio and the tranquil countryside of the Val di Chiana, right at the foot of the Etruscan village of Castiglion Fiorentino, lies the B&B La Casa Della Domenica. The B&B takes its name from the owner's grandmother, Domenica, who, after the war, insisted on building this house entirely of stone after her own had been destroyed by bombing.
The main villa offers guests a ground-floor apartment, both as a B&B and as a vacation rental. The apartment features a large double bedroom with the option of adding a crib or single bed, a bedroom with a crib, a bathroom with a tub or shower, and a spacious living room with a double sofa bed and a kitchenette.
Our vacation rental features a beautiful garden where you can enjoy breakfast or lunch in the shade of the tall pine trees, overlooking the Cassero, an ancient medieval tower overlooking Castiglion Fiorentino. Looking toward Cortona, you can admire the Montecchio Castle, once owned by Giovanni l'Acuto (5 km).
Guests also have access to bicycles for exploring the nearby bike paths. The hostess cannot prepare meals for guests as we are not an agritourism, but she is available to help them prepare traditional Tuscan dishes.
The area is extremely quiet despite its proximity to the train station (300 meters) and the bus stop (100 meters).
